General Info about Brake Disc Rotors

The GOLDfren brake disc rotors are manufactured with the highest steel either heat-treated high carbon steel or stainless steel depending on the type of application. They are engineered and designed to achieve the desired properties - lightness, hardness, strength and impact resistance as well as high friction and low abrasion – demanded in high performance disc brakes used under heavy braking conditions such as racing.

GOLDfren brake disc rotors are available in round OEM round design and also in various exclusive designs. GOLDfren's exclusive brake disc rotor designs are laser cut on heat-treated carbon steel and stainless steel enabling the brake disc rotor to keep cooler and thereby reducing or eliminating brake fading and warping under extreme braking conditions. The stylish laser cut slot openings on the braking surface are also designed to allow the rotor to quickly get rid of any dirt and to cool down as the rotor spins while maximizing braking performance and handling control.

About Carbon Steel Rotors

The GOLDfren brake disc rotors are constructed by heat treating steel with high carbon content to achieve the desired properties in high quality performance brake disc rotors - hardness, strength and impact resistance. Zinc (black or white/silver) or black coating is also used as a protection to prevent corrosion. All of our brake rotors ensure correct braking impact and maximum performance.

About Stainless Steel Rotors

The GOLDfren brake disc rotors are constructed using high strength stainless steel mainly characterized by its light weight, hardness, and strength and corrosion resistance – all desired features in racing performance brake disc rotors. Stainless steel brake rotors are recommended on racing applications.

GOLDfren produces brake rotors for all types of motorcycle including scooters. For optimum rotor performance, an appropriate composition of brake pads blend shall be selected. We also manufacture several kinds of sintered compound blends for our goldfren brake pads, and continuously research and develop to integrate more effective compositions.  GOLDfren bases a lot of their product innovation and improvements based on feedback from detailed professional racer test reports on all the GOLDfren products and novelties.

The most rampant group is the off-road discs. These discs are manufactured in several exclusive designs and in several colors.  Because of material quality improvements, the discs are designed to exceed the most prominent racer’s expectations.  Also the Off-road floating discs became a great hit within our product offerings because of superior performance.  Floating discs consist of two parts: the disc center hub and the crown (braking part). We have succeeded in designing a very interesting and practical style of the disc center hub.  Crowns are also manufactured with high-quality steel meeting high quality standards. In addition to these discs of current dimensions, we produce oversize (enhanced) off-road discs of similar quality; to mount oversize discs an adapter is necessary which we also manufacture.

Another chapter is the scooter brake discs considering the ever increasing number of scooters on our roads.  GOLDfren can operatively manufacture rotors for all scooter makes offered on our market. Due to permanent enhancement, we have developed very unique and demanded designs that are exclusive by GOLDfren.  Also the silver galvanized finished surface gives the scooter really eye-catching appearance.

Supermoto is another range of the motor sport that is spreading. These discs are manufactured in both integrated (rigid) and floating design. Rigid discs are made of high-quality steel, their appearance is conformable to the off-road discs of greater dimensions and their diameter equals 320 mm. The application of these discs is conditional on the adapter (it ensures the brake valve movement to the appropriate brake position on the disc). The manufacturing of adapter is a very demanding operational process using up-to-date CNC machines. They are manufactured with the highest-quality and lightest alloys achieving the necessary hardness and strength. Centres of floating discs are also manufactured with similar materials. The center hub may be manufactured in any required color tone according to the customer's demand to be consistent with the color of the motorcycle.

On-road floating discs belong among the most demanded products. Their manufacture and design is similar to Supermoto, however, the exception consists in discs with sunken (disc form) center.  CNC machines are utilized to fabricate these rotor center hub, ensuring the highest accuracy and quality. The materials are also characterized with highest quality, lightness and strength. Centre color design can be done in all basic colors. Since these discs are used under heavily demanded conditions by powerful machines, the crowns are also made with high-quality steel. Through constant research and development we have arrived at the conclusion that it is not necessary to integrate a cooling groove at the crown perimeter, because used material in itself is very resistant and effective in heat removal.
